Curiosity and quest for knowledge aroused in the young minds of GPS when the students from Std IX-XII joined together for the Mock Parliament session. A Parliament session which included the democratic style of the Indian Parliament, its ideals and principles were enacted by the students of GPS. The initiative taken by the Social Science Department helped the students to enact a session of the Parliament like Passing of the Bill and Question Hour session. President, Vice President, Speaker, Prime Minister, MP's of Ruling and Opposition party were present for the session. This was enunciated to provide awareness to the students about the working of the Parliament. Food security Bill, price hike in pretroleum products, security for women and children, India Pakistan border issues, development in tourism, issues of NRI's etc. were disscussed during the session.
Shri. Hibi Eden, MLA of Ernakulam Constituency was the Cheif Guest. In his inaugural address, he spoke about the working of the Indian Parliament and the features of democracy. He also added that these sessions would be an additional exposure to the students and would benifit them in the future. The Mock Parliament enacted by the students lasted for almost 1 1/2 hours.
